Full
Swing!
I’m back, kiddies, did you miss me? I took a nice long break
over summer, did pretty much nothing but listen to the Beatles and watch
television and, yes, it was as pleasant as it sounds. Now however, I’m back at
college, taking in the Young Harris air and taking a reaming from RA training.
I never knew I could be as tired as I am tonight. Seven hours of training,
including watching the Jeff Bridges movie White
Squall, and while it was a great movie . . . I still can’t figure out what
it had to do with RA training. Now because I’ve had so little free time, my
room is still screwed and I’m exhausted, but I just thought I’d check in and
let everyone know that I’m back in full swing.

Letters
To the Citizens of
Young Harris at large:
Thank you for making my freshman
year of college as enjoyable as it could have been. This campus has become a
welcoming sight over the past months and though I won’t lie and say that I am
not very grateful for a summer break, I cannot deny either that you have been
good to me and I will miss you. Until next year.
To the Sophomore
Theatre Majors:
I couldn’t ask for a better
group of people to play with. My adoration and respect for all of your talents
is never ending. You’re all wonderful in your own quirky was and I will miss
you all a lot. It just won’t be the same without you next year. And if anyone
ever needs a place to stay next year on a visit, I’ll gladly let you crash in
my room. Good Luck, kids.
To the Freshman
Theatre Majors:
I couldn’t hope for a better
ensemble. Joni makes me smile every time without fail. Parker is the best
leading man and friend I could hope for in theatre. Meagan’s actually a CIA
agent (but a sweet one at that). And Jon is a case study in being one of a
kind. See ya next year kids, when we’ll be the Sophomore Theatre Majors. How
weird is that?
Love to All From,
Daniel

World. Come. Crashing.
I’ve been
so busy lately I’m in no mood to write anything remotely philosophical. I’m
just ready for the school year to be over and to some semblance of a summer. It
seems like everyone wants something at the same time lately and there’s nothing
I can cut corners on. I’ll admit, it’s not as bad as it could be, or has been
in the past, but it’s just getting so very, very old. I’m not happy with the Lives of the Saints and it’s nothing
that any of the cast is doing, everyone’s great, it’s just me getting fed up
with everything. I’m managing to stay in pretty good spirits these days, while
I bide my time until summer comes and relieves me somewhat.
Anyway, I just thought I’d stop by
and let everyone know that I haven’t completely forgotten all of the blogs I
read, I just haven’t had time to scratch my nose, much less read and update.

Infatuation
Sorry for
the lack of updates, I’ve just been tired and uninspired since London.
I think I’m picking back up again, though.
I’ve discovered
somewhere in the course of this year that there truly are four kinds of people
in my world:
- Those I like
- Those I tolerate
- Those I dislike
- Those who infatuate me.
It’s that last lot that I think are
the very interesting and slightly aggravating group. I’ve found recently that
there really are just some people who fascinate and intrigue me to no end.
Admittedly there are very few of them. Usually people I meet are far more
easily defined, but occasionally there are the few that leave me speechless.
Normally I meet someone and they are very quickly and very easily filed away into
certain specific categories. But then there come a select few that just
instantly enthrall me and I’m left not knowing why or how they’ve done it. In
all honesty it gets aggravating because I can’t find a place to file these
people, yet I can’t stay away from them and I give away far too much far too
quickly.
I want to know why these people can
do this to me.

| Kenvin Spacey
So last night was cool. Kevin and I went to the Old Vic theatre to see National Anthems staring Kevin Spacey and Steven Webber. The show was good, the best part of which was Kevin Spacey and Mary Stuart Masterson. I'll post a full review later. Well, anyway, Kevin and I waited outside the stagedoor after the show and got autographs from and met both Kevin Spacey and Steven Webber. How Cool, Yeah?
Well, I'm going to keep this post short since I despise this Cafe keyboard. So I'm tonight to Her Majesty's Theatre to see The Phantom of the Opera. Once again, sayonara from the Mother Country. | | |
